The 11-11tv Program idea (evolution of fun?)

So, I think it would be a really fun idea to start an actual broadcast of....well.....US!!!

We are 1111, and I personally see everyone here as a channel.


So the idea is thus.
Ill be opening up the links, and anyone who wants to join in is more than welcome to.

Im going to start a Group on Youtube called 1111tv, or something of that nature.


Each week Im going to decide upon what I want to submit.
Being that I am currently undergoing a degree in animation and have an intermediate understanding of broadcasting to a point, I am going to create an organized setting for these weekly broadcasts on Youtube.

I am going to represent 1 channel. I see us each as a channel, so we could be referred to as such.

On these weekly broadcasts I am going to discuss whatever it is I want to talk about. Since 1111 to me, is everything and nothing, I hold nothing back, and taking a brilliant que from Michael and Steveo, I will not moniter or censor what goes into it (of course I suppose youtube will ultimately be the censor, but this could be just a temporary status).

The subjects can range from personal or collective opinion, news, event broadcasting, discoveries/science/technology, forum discussions currently being reviewed, entertainment, books, dreams, synchs, etc....etc....etc.....


I really think not only would this be fun, but is a good idea to get the ever evolving notion of 1111 and this site out to the people.
If its cool with you michael I would like you to sponser it, though no donation is required since content is free to post. I only want this site to sponser the idea, because it will be a great way to plug the site.


I think as many people as possible who can get involved in this would be great, but obviously to do so you need the ability to record yourself and put that content on the computer to put into the web.

Things needed for 1111tv to work.

1.) Camera, computer, ability to place content onto the computer for transfer onto the web.

2.) Organization.
We will need to know what people are going to put on before they put it on, for the sake of relief from any chaos such as someone posting the same thing, or keeping any dualistic tendencies, ie, NO FIGHTING!!! (Though I think if parodied, or purposefully intentional can be doable)

3.) Consistency.
We need to know if your going to help with this, you really going to be there for it, so we dont have too much if any, of gaps in the broadcasts and so on.
Obviously this isnt going to be professional, but we can at least come together and harmonize on this in order for it to be done well and have a good time with it.

So heres what Im going to do.


First Ill create a group on Youtube.

Second Ill try and come up with an organized plan of what I personally am going to do, and pretty much give ideas for what anyone else MIGHT want to do.

Third, Ill post here all the incoming ideas, all the information needed and so forth.

ok i think see what you are saying now pyrial...I haven't checked out the groups on youtube but I am guessing a group would have several channels within it...So we each would also have to make a channel as well right? A channel that would be listed on the group page??

And on our individual channel we would each showcase a weekly video about a topic of interest or importance to us...

is that the idea?

just want to make sure I am following what you are saying here...correct me if I misunderstood the idea

you know bb and anyone else that can't actually record themselves at the moment..you can use windows movie maker or another program like it, to make a video using pictures you have on your pc...You can add text and music..all kinds of things..so this would be another way to express an opinion or idea too...

This might be silly but I honestly didn't know how to upload a video that I took on my digital camera to youtube..The format my camera used was different than what youtube allowed..the simple remedy for me was to take my recording from my camera and upload it to my movie maker program ( i think most versions of windows comes with movie maker) then I just saved it and it saves in one of the formats youtube does allow...
It's a simple thing, but not something I had any idea of at first so I thought I would share it in case anyone else tried to upload a video on you tube and found it wouldnt work...

thats a really good point. most people do glaze over the use of movie maker, but it really is versatile enough to do these things. I use it a lot now after I figured out how useful it is.
I am able to compress my fraps down from over a gig or more to KB. I use it to convert formats.

It is something that is pretty easy to use to.

exactly. You shouldnt feel you need to put anything on there at all, nor if you do, that it has to be anything specific.

The group is intended to introduce the world to US and themselves through any means of communication possible.

so I guess you can use just a webcam to put something on..pretty cool...

ok I have to figure out what I want to do for my first video...hmmmm...I can probably have one done by the weekend...

I know at some point I would also like to remake the 11-11tv picture video I made last year and include anyone that wasn't around then too...I will make a post sometime soon to ask for pics of people here that I can include in the video...

i contacted that girl i know about having a radio version of 1111tv. of course, there would be rules cuz it isn't property of this site, but the goal would be to bring up a few subjects talked about at the site and then talk about them via online radio. of course people could 'call' in and it seems it is interactive.

if this were to work, it might encourage people to post more thought provoking stuff and inspire a healthy competitive spirit among some of the members here that like to rap the crap.

anyhow...how's that sound?

i will help out in any way. fiend already said he would like to participate and do a movie thing. we both could bring our tv production experience to it, but what it needs are hosts.

i nominate pyrial11 and shary. they are both good looking, charming, love to talk and have the right amount of bleeding heart about them. perfect for talk show hosts.

I think it would be a lot of fun to do. I dont mind being "A" host along with shary or whoever else might be interested.

Now, are we talking about hosting the online radio broadcasting, the youtube broadcasting, or a seperate deal altogether? Im up for it all, obviously we'll need to coordinate so many of us dont feel overwhelmed.

Damn, all of a sudden Im feeling this boom in creative expression.....

host both. why not do a kind of howard stern tv show thing, where you ham it up for the camera and have whoever you want over, while you open the mic to various topics that come up at the site.

you could tape yourself doing the radio show to broadcast at youtube....

We'll see what happens with your contact Michael and in the meantime I will also poke around and get some info on putting up an internet radio show...how it's done and what it takes ect...

I will also still get a video done for the youtube group pyrial...I had a few ideas tonight of what I would like to do...and i think then maybe getting the two projects connected somehow is a great idea!!

Ok. What does everyone think of this for the youtube broadcast.

We all decide on some kind of design, or logo that will introduce your broadcast, a sort of credit roll thing at the beginning.

If you guys want to think up what it should look like, I can develop the animation or credit logo, and send it out to everyone so that they will be able to add it to the beginning of their broadcast.

what if you did something where the four ones appear from the top of the screen, right to left, each number dropping one at a time. when the fourth one is finished dropping and is settled, you could have a tv or the letters TV come in from the left, bumping the last one to drop and having it fall forward, knocking the other ones like dominoes, while the tv continues to the middle of the screen. once the tv is center, you can have it stay static and then have the four ones lurch back up again, as if coming up behind the tv, finally settling just behind the tv, so the title, an 1111 with a tv in the middle is showing...then fade to host and cue

I think if you are camera shy you can still make a great video...

People who love to take photos can make a video with a slide show of some of thier favorite shots...
People who make music can make a video of thier music set to images they see fit....

yeah michael, you should draw that out. I think I see what your talking about, but I want to get it right in your head. I wouldnt have any problems doing simple text stuff like that.

alright.... yeah I get what your saying. Ill play around and see what I can come up with, then either send you the file, or put up a link or put an attachment when I post to see if its what you envisioned. I like that though, I can see it working out well.


Alright, so heres my plan. I need a couple of things before I can get this off the ground.

I need supplies for my camera, for my mic, and I need to reinstall some software.

Now, my desktop is currently having issues, some I think due to vista, so when the first of April comes around Im going to reformat and reinstall XP as well as my needed programs, ie, protools, adobe, autodesk etc.....

Im not sure what you have in mind for the online radio broadcast, but Im going to begin broadcasting on Youtube about the first week into April. Anyone can start earlier if they choose.

Im going to actually do some scripting and organizing how I want my channel to run on the groups broadcast center at youtube, this way I will have a smoother running program. If people wish, they can PM or email me their ideas if they need any help or just wish to participate in any organizing of the broadcasts.

Personally I see either saturday or sundays as a good time for the broadcast recordings and submissions (for those who want to have a regular schedule), and I am planning on doing interviews if possible, opinions and news, reviews, and just ramblings. My channel is if at all possible going to pulse with as much as I can put into it.

sounds excellent. i will work on a framework for a show. i will try to take on the role of a producer/director cuz that's how i sound right now anyhow . i will take care of the details with the girl i know and see what happens. if it is a go, you and shary will have to download the right stuff. i do believe it is free the way she is doing it. if not, maybe we can sell some pins, or worry about that down the road.

we can work out the schedule, etc, but if it gets a green light we gotta actually buckle down and just do it. as hosts you will pick the topics, though suggestions would be welcome. any more volunteers are also welcome. in the meantime, people should add to the youtube thing! i know i plan to.

i have always thought an online radio version of 1111tv would be a great idea, but it was actually thunk up at the yahoo group a long time ago. unfortunately things didn't work out, but with the right people behind it, this idea could really work. by right people, i mean those who have the desire, belief and talent to make it work, and there are plenty of those to be found around here.

that's why i think we should keep this pirate vibe alive and sail this starship into deeper waters!

that's the catch-22 of what i do for a living. i really like working in a television news studio. it can be really exciting sometimes and your work is watched by thousands of people, often live. it is like being in the army in that it is often very boring, then a total rush

it is what it takes to give me that rush that bums me out

but it is the chronicling of a world we all contribute to, all playing for the cameras. one day there might just be good news selling advertisements for things that won't kill ya...

I know what you mean though with feeling the work through until the end, and then when it finally gets put out there, you know what you just worked your ass of on is paying off.

I can get just about any program needed, or if there are specifics to be downloaded throw the link our way.

It would be cool if we had some kind idea board here even where everyone throws an idea in for the topics to be discussed.

I think he did have to refresh his page once though after connecting,..but it seemed to work great that first time...

This JUST a little practice programming so I am more interested in how functional it is not whats really on there ...so if you have a minute I would love your input I am keeping the same 8 minutes just sorta looped for right now for this test...

alright...it took a few times but eventually it worked, of course I could only play it on vlc, but thats probably a codec issue....tesla eh?

funny synch...Im working on a tesla coil effect for my class project today.

very cool though....Im guessing youll be able to host on there if you want?

an oh yeah, you can do live programming or prerecorded programming like I have on there now..I think both are cool because its 24/7 station..so having lots uploaded to loop would be cool..

we could have all kinds of segments and for people to put thier own views, ideas, or music on it.. would just need to give me an mp3 and whalla...

vlc is just another player, usually for those of us who like torrents and downloading info, sometimes the codecs dont work for all the generic players, so one has to try a few different solutions. WMP didnt work, nor did nero, but vlc did juuuuust fine

oh and pyrial we are still waiting to hear back from Michaels contact...this was sort of just an experiment for me to see how it does and could work...
What she has to offer may be way better for what we want...or there may be a better program out there to use too....

Alright guys. I have a logo test. Its an AVI file, about 8 seconds, 8000kb+.

Is there a place I can send it for a test, I tried sending it to you michael on the pm, but I dont know if it went through or not. I could probably send it on an email attachment, but if it doesnt work out, I can send it as a gif and that should go through much easier.
